Latest update (October 17, 2026): The TV anime adaptation of Glasses with a Chance of Delinquent will begin airing in Japan in April 2027. The main cast, production staff, and animation studios have now been announced.
Naruki’s shoujo manga began as a limited serialization in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend before returning as a regular series in 2022. Eleven Japanese volumes are available as of this update, with volume 12 scheduled for November 13, 2026.
What the Story’s About
Hiro Momose has a personal aversion to delinquents, and Dan Ichikura — the quiet, glasses-wearing classmate she barely notices — turns out to be a former one, with a serious fighting reputation from his middle school days. What follows is less about the reputation and more about what’s underneath it: a boy whose loyalty to the people he cares about doesn’t bend, and a girl who slowly stops needing to be protected and starts protecting back.
Anime Release Date, Cast, and Staff
The anime is scheduled for April 2027. Daito Shimizu will voice Dan Ichikura, Ryoko Hara will voice Hiro Momose, and Yuma Tomochika will voice Ohana-chan. Makoto Hoshino is directing, Megumi Shimizu is handling series composition, and Ruriko Watanabe is responsible for character design. Animation production is by Studio Flad and WAO World.
The official website also features a teaser PV and comments from the creator, director, and cast. Naruki describes the adaptation as the realization of a long-held wish to see the characters move and speak.
What Is Still Unconfirmed
As of October 17, 2026, an international streaming platform and regional availability outside Japan have not been announced. We will not speculate about overseas distribution; check the official anime website for the latest confirmed news.
