The Fine Points of My Amigurumi Craftsmanship

In my amigurumi(Japanese crochet or knitted stuffed toys) creations, I have several points of particular focus.
This is because I want to give my unique touch to the many “amigurumi” that exist out there.

Here, I’ll share with you my particular passions in creating amigurumi.

Considering Safety

My amigurumi are primarily made of 8 parts:
Head, body, right hand, left hand, right foot, left foot, right ear, and left ear.

After finishing each part, I use “Techno Roto” – a flexible plastic wire that can hold its shape – inside the head, body, and limbs, along with the usual stuffing.

To ensure that my customers who handle my amigurumi don’t get hurt, I take special care in using plastic wire instead of metal wire.

Amigurumi Size

I make the boys slightly larger than the girls, with longer limbs.

This is influenced by my love for shojo manga. When you place a boy and a girl side by side, I want you to instantly feel the boy’s embracing presence and dependability (´꒳`).

That’s why I intentionally make the boys a bit bigger.

Hair

While many amigurumi creators crochet the hair to keep it neat, I’m committed to creating a more realistic look.

To achieve this, I meticulously focus on each individual strand of hair, tying thin yarn onto every stitch that forms the scalp area. This technique allows me to create a more lifelike and detailed hairstyle for each amigurumi.

Facial Balance

I use plastic safety eyes, but to create the effect of eyelashes, I use embroidery thread.
I also pay close attention to the eyebrows, considering the balance to make the expression soft for girls or dignified for boys.

For the girls’ eyelashes, I use real false eyelashes. I believe this makes the eyes appear larger and incredibly cute♡

In Conclusion

In order to create truly unique “amigurumi”, I create each one with careful attention to these details.
I would be delighted if you could pick one up and take a look for yourself!
