Toki
G’day!
I’m “Toki” from amigurumiche.
I’ve been creating amigurumi for 6 years now. I’m still fascinated by the process of gradually shaping a single thread into a form, and I continue to crochet with passion.
“Amigurumi” is a Japanese word combining “ami” (to knit or crochet) and “nuigurumi” (stuffed toy). This Japanese term has now become popular worldwide.
My amigurumi creations usually aim to capture everyday scenes with specific themes. I’ve shared details about my work, Japan, and other interesting information on my website. I’d be delighted if you could take a look!
About My Current Works
For the Japan Expo, I’ve made a sincere effort to showcase Japan’s “cool” and “cute” aspects to Australians.
I’ve dressed the amigurumi in kimono (traditional Japanese garment) and created accessories that represent Japan. Please pay attention to how these little amigurumi embody “Japan” in their attire.
Look out for items like sensu(folding fans), mari balls(decorative thread balls), zori (traditional sandals), uchiwa (fans), and kanzashi (hair ornaments). I’ve also added a playful twist by mixing traditional and modern elements, like pairing kimono with hats or basket bags. I hope you enjoy these stylish combinations!
Australia-Exclusive Item
I’ve created a special item just for this Japan Expo – a mari ball inspired by the Australian flag.
Mari balls are made with long threads, symbolizing “connecting relationships”, “longevity”, and “eternal happiness”. I’ve made this with the hope that Australia and Japan will continue to have a great relationship for many years to come!

In Conclusion
Japan has many more fascinating traditions that you might not know about yet. I’ll keep working hard to share as many of Japan’s charms as possible.
My motto is to create “works that can infinitely expand imagination”! I’m aiming to make a new style of amigurumi that allows those who hold my creations to imagine endless stories beyond.

I’m Kurumi, a resin artist and colour therapist. I specialise in soft, adorable colour combinations and create heartwarming items filled with cute designs like cats, stars, and hearts that resonate with people’s emotions.
MY ENTHUSIASM FOR THIS PROJECT
While utilising my signature soft and adorable colour palette, I’ve focused on enhancing the charm of the amigurumi. I’ve also incorporated traditional Japanese materials into the design.
Although I’m primarily a resin artist, this project marked my first time working with new materials to create items. It’s been a journey of constant challenge and growth. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Toki’s wonderful creation!

G’day! I’m absolutely passionate about communicating in English. Australia holds a special place in my heart, and I’m thrilled to be involved in this project. My background is quite diverse – I’ve worked in honey imports, various English-related jobs, and provided support in marketing and writing.

BRIEF SELF-INTRODUCTION
I’m Loupe, an embroidery artist. I started embroidering when I became a parent, and I’ve been stitching almost every day for the past 7 years. I have a soft spot for unique creatures, so I create hand-embroidered brooches featuring animals like anglerfish, platypus, and blue-footed boobies. So far, I’ve crafted about 500 brooches, each one designed to be a supportive companion in our customers’ daily lives.
MY ENTHUSIASM FOR THIS PROJECT
I’m creating tags for Toki’s amigurumi. At first glance, you might not realise these tags are individually hand-embroidered. Since the amigurumi are the stars of the show, I aimed to create simple tags that complement them without stealing the spotlight.
Considering the meticulous handiwork of Toki and the other creators, I’ve been stitching with a blend of excitement and focused precision, feeling honoured to contribute to their wonderful creations.

I’m a craft band artist.
With the motto “Feelings are conveyed,” I continue to create works filled with joy and positivity.
Craft bands are a durable material made from recycled paper, such as milk cartons and old paper. Using this eco-friendly material, I carefully create each piece with heart, hoping that those who hold my works will feel a bit warmer inside.
MY ENTHUSIASM FOR THIS PROJECT
When I was offered this opportunity, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness.
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to assist Toki, an amigurumi artist I greatly admire. At the same time, I worried if I could meet the expected quality.
However, with a sincere desire to support Toki’s international endeavors and to help in any way I can, I dedicated myself fully to the creation process.
It would be my great joy if my creations could gently complement and become a part of the wonderful world that Toki creates.

My enthusiasm for this project
I’ve been working on the logo, brochures, business cards, backing cards, and flyers for Toki’s handmade creations. I’m a big fan of Toki’s work myself, and I’ve always wanted more people to discover her adorable creations. I’ve carefully designed visuals to capture and reflect Toki’s unique artistic style. I’m looking forward to seeing many visitors at the event experience her creations and feel their charm and inviting warmth.
